The idea of setting goals is, I think, inspired by the latest book I am reading – Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin.
Each month she sets herself a few goals, to test out ideas and see if they do make her and her family happier.
I can imagine this book is not everyone’s cup of tea – her life is very different to mine – but her knowledge is vast in the area of scientific research into “happiness” (not that I’m an expert!), and the references she gives I often haven’t heard of before.
Oh, and she is hopeless at meditating (like me).
