There is a joke often repeated among women of a certain age: You can walk into a grocery store and shoplift whatever you want, because nobody will notice that you’re even there.

According to recent data from the US Government Consumer Expenditure Surveyand Neilsen, women over the age of 50 compromise the largest demographic of incomes over $100,000 and control 95 per cent of household purchasing decisions. They are, according to business publication Forbes, the “ultimate super consumer”.
