How did I get this list?

These are blogs that met my criteria.

 Basic criteria:

– it was a STYLE blog (this meant that lots of awesome blogs I found were culled because they were too diary-ish).
– the blog wasn’t half filled with ads or broken links or used some 90’s template.
– the blog was updated in the last fortnight and is updated more than once a month
– each blog entry didn’t start: sorry I’ve been busy

Plus:
– either I found myself reading each entry
– or I loved the images (there was good photography or great outfits)
– or there were links to shopping items or funny stories that matched my taste.

I had to get honest and cull blogs that I just knew I wouldn’t regularly read, though that doesn’t mean they aren’t awesome. I just didn’t connect with them.

Thank you ladies.

  6. OMG…Thank you, thank you, thank you for finding me and for including me on this list of awesome bloggers. I love that you compiled this most of all. I can’t wait to browse through it and connect with some other over 40 bloggers. We’re in a unique category we over 40’s. It seems like the blogosphere is overflowing with 20 and 30 somethings, but not so much for the over 40. Again this is so fab and thanks for including me. I’m so flattered!! And by the way, you drove over 15 looks at my blog this month…I appreciate it sooooo much!

    • There are so many blogs out there, when I find good ones like yours then I am so grateful. It takes so much work to blog, and you need to be especially brave to do OOTD, but it makes such a difference to readers like me. Thank you!

    • Sorry I don’t have a badge. I’m not sure I even know how to make a badge! 🙂 It’s just little old me with my little old list.
I didn’t get many visitors until Catherine mentioned me. It’s kind of scary.
Hopefully lots more people will find your site via NDAL linking to me linking to you – because I love your style and if I can help get the word out that’s great.

  7. I love this list! First, I found it from the fabulous 40+ blogger Catherine of Not Dressed As Lamb! She’s the best and one of my favorites.

Basically, I’d like to compare this post to a piece of delicious Lindt dark chocolate with sea salt. I want to savor it! So far I’ve only looked at your top 5 favorites. The Mom Edit is on my fave list right up there with Catherine. But, I learned of four new ones! I didn’t know Kim France had a blog! What fun!! I miss her from her Lucky days–even though I adore Eva.

I’d like to say that us (I’m a 40+ blogger too) are just really cool. We have a confidence about us that let’s us just go for it. Don’t you think!?

Ok, tomorrow I’ll venture through five more. Like I said, I plan to totally savor this list. Thanks for making it!

    Love,

Ann of Kremb de la Kremb

  8. Thank you so much for listing my blog. I so admire your wonderful photographs and thanks for sharing how you achieve them. I have just bought a 1.8 aperture lens but am not quite there yet.

  9. Not being one to write lists, it always surprises me how much I enjoy reading the lists of others. I think it’s kind of a two-fer. I get to discover new-to-me blogs plus I get to know the list writer much better. You like some of my favourite bloggers…that makes me feel eager to check out those on the list that are unknown to me! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Hello! I love your list of over 40 bloggers, and I was honored to have made it a while back. I took a little hiatus after my mom passed away this past summer, but I wanted to tell you that as of today, I’m back and I’d be thrilled if you would pop over and check me out again sometime. I think your blog embodies much of what I and many of your other featured bloggers are trying to do…real women, real bodies, in real clothes. I can’t wait to connect again!

  11. Wow thank heaven for these blogs. Just because I’m over 40 doesn’t mean I have to dress like an old lady and I can also have MY OWN youthful energy without looking like I’m trying to recapture my teen years. I was medically anorexic…. I didn’t choose it, I had a health issue. Now that the health issue is resolved people are shocked I can no longer girls sized clothes. Well get over it. I did! Now this list is going to help me get my mojo back!

  12. What a great resource for sourcing over 40 style bloggers!! I am excited to say that I just officially launched my fashion and beauty blog for the women over 40 – what an inspirational group you’ve compiled. Hope mine keeps the bar high!! Cynthia Hudson/www.cynthiahudsonstyle.com/blog
